Thisiswar came to life as the solo imprint of song-writer Travis Wright, back in 1998.
The project’s lo-fi indie-folk sound and alt-rock roots set out to evolve, bend, twist and echo over the sound of 36 studio albums, featuring songs that have been covered by artists the likes of Lovedrug, Boys On The Radio, Quiles & Cloud and Sierra Swan
.Brand new album “Rooftops” sees Travis collaborating with a full line-up of musicians sporting wildly different backgrounds; including The Cold and Lovely, on lead single “Godspeed”. The resulting sessions embody the eclectic spirit of the Chicago Music scene, also captured within the beautiful artwork by Paul Elledge, acclaimed local photographer who previously collaborated with artists the likes of Nine Inch Nails and Smashing Pumpkins
.Godspeed will be released on October 31st, followed by Thisiswar’s debut show on the 15th of November and album release on the 18th!
There’s a lot on the table, but Travis does not seem to show signs of slowing down: the very prolific songwriter is already at work on follow-up “The Lonely Life of a Space Traveler”, tentatively scheduled to be released in June 2015.
