I am designer/owner of Sue P. Knits which has been in business for 24 years. At present my designs can primarily be found in the Artful Home catalog. I also have a hand knitting business called Olio Knits where I design and write knitting patterns specializing in easy to follow knitting projects. I am also the former owner of Stitch(es) in Winnetka. I currently teach knitting classes to former customers as well as through New Trier extension. In the Introduction to Knitting class we will learn how to cast on (get stitches on a needle) and knit. There will probably not be enough time to learn how to purl but if time allows, we’ll give it a go. For class, bring a set of needles and a ball of yarn. The yarn should be appropriate for the needles that you bring along. The information on the yarn tag will tell you what size needle will work best. You can get supplies at Michaels or a local yarn shop such as Mia Bella in Highland Park, Three Bags Full in Northbrook or Rib and Stitch in Winnetka. Looking forward to meeting new knitters!
